This year is the first time I’m living completely alone in London (meaning, no flatmates) and the flat is all mine to decorate as I want. Since I do spend a lot of time at home – 99% of the time I work from home, and I do love spending afternoons reading in my living room and having friends over for meals or simply a drink, I feel it needs to reflect the season. I like to change decorations and really make the place feel like a home, for me, personally.
For the first time in my life, I could finally decorate a little bit for Christmas in my own place. Of course, I won’t be spending Christmas here (if it all goes well!), but I just needed it to feel… well Christmassy. I invested in some smaller decorations this year and wanted to share them with you.
My Christmas Tree Decorations. I bought an artificial Christmas Tree, which I know it’s not the same as a natural one, but it’s the best to fit my needs and hopefully, it will last me for many years. These are some ornaments I bought at Tiger Copenhagen and Sainsbury’s. I added the berries and the pines for a more natural feel, and also some fake snow spray. Both of these ornaments were gifted to me. The first one was handmade and it’s a picture of me on my first Christmas in London. It says “Feliz Natal” which is Portuguese for Merry Christmas. The second is of course Mickey Mouse, my favourite cartoon of all time. My friends know me well 🙂I love Nutcrackers so I had to get one for my flat this year. This one is from Marks & Spencers. I love the quality of it – the coat is actually made with velvet. Finally, my centrepiece. I bought the candlesticks a while ago, vintage and previously loved.
