Bla bla bla, I love Scotland, bla bla bla, if you’ve been following this blog, you already know that. I used Inverness as my base to explore Skye and some castles around up there in the highlands. There isn’t really much to do in Inverness – it’s a small town, a small place, where visitors go with the same objective. To visit everything else around it.

Precisely because of how small it is, I must confess it was a much appreciated break from the busy London. I felt I could breath for a while. And that was really nice 🙂 You can go for a walk in the Ness Islands, admire the darkness of Ness River waters. Add to that the gothic architecture so typical of Scottish churches and cemeteries if you have the perfect place for a small trip. So here are a few shots of Inverness which hopefully spike your curiosity to visit the most northern town of the United Kingdom.

Check out my article on my day trip to the Isle of Skye from Inverness here.
